Statement

I use painting, bookbinding, collage, and public art to explore challenging community-based issues. My goal as a multidisciplinary artist is to engage communities by offering an accessible entry point into visual language through deep exploration, conversation, and reflection.

Biography

I received a B.A. in Studio Art (1999) and a Masters of Professional Studies in Arts & Cultural Leadership(2017), both at the University of Minnesota. During my undergraduate years, I studied Architecture, that influenced my work for years, even if it did not become my profession. As a visual artist, I started in sculpture and bookbinding, venturing into painting after school, while raising my three children.
