Tiny School of Art & Design

Our goal with the Tiny School of Art & Design is to build a creative community by introducing art and design activities in everyday and at special events.

A Mother and Daughter both draw the produce from a local farmers market, using foundational art elements of line, shape, and color.

The purpose of the Tiny School of Art & Design is to build community through the foundations of art.

Goals

  • To understand the arts, not through project-based activities, but through exposure to the way an artist thinks and plays.

  • To emphasize that art can be linked to food, culture, technology, and life!

  • To bring the foundations of art and design to communities that do not have access to cultural and academic institutions.

Features of the Tiny School

  • Bright Exterior to get attention from the event visitors

  • Magnetic gallery wall on the side of the trailer to showcase activities or to make a temporary gallery of work.

  • 10 “Drawing Horses” for pleine air drawing or painting.

  • 3 folding tables

  • 10 stools

  • Basic art materials like tempera paint, brushes, paper, and drawing media.

  • Program will offer hands on instruction and “passive” art making activities.

  • Work with award winning artist and community engagement practitioner, Heidi Jeub, who will customize the program to fit needs and goals of the host organization or location.
